We,Shree Gurukulam Hr.Secondary School,Gobichettipalayam-638453(PIN),Erode (District),Tamilnadu (State),India.We have been providing good education to the students belongs to the rural area for the past four years.We adopted a village in nearby our school named Gobipalayam and we conducted a special camp there through our school NSS(National Service Scheme)organisation from 1/10/2009 to 7/10/2009.We declared Gobipalayam village as a "Global Warming awareness village". We made awareness among the people pertaining GLOBAL WARMING through various activities. We also distributed global warming awareness guide,phamplets etc to the people .. Our NSS students also made a special campaign to the illeterate people home and they explained the effects of GLOBAL WARMING.. In the highlight of this, our school NSS students called people to switch off their home bulbs for one hour on 5/10/2009 from 7.00PM to 8.00PM. The earth hour programme was held on 5/10/2009 scuccessfully. I am assure that no such programme conducted by any school in our state.We are the only school brought up this issue to the village people in our state.We inform you happily that we also join our hands with you to reduce the carbon footprint in the world.I also assure that our activities ll continue in the forthcoming camps also..
