This is Lucy Robinson in Amherst. I arranged for the celebration of EarthHour this spring. Now I'm working with the Amherst 350 Committee. We're responding to Bill McKibben's call to action on October 24 (See below).Our goal is to organize an action to call politicians' attention to the need for substantive action in Copenhagen, and to galvanize community members to local action. We are planning a big event on Amherst Common, culminating in a 350 (person) Tree Die-In on the grass.
We wondered if you were planning anything already and/or would you like to join us? I know summer is your down time, but we are having a meeting on June 25 at the Amherst Unitarian Universalist Church. If you would like to come, or would like to join us in this action, please do contact me.
