Riverside is an Emerald City...

in the proverbial sense of course. I find it disappointing but a bit amusing that a whole city can work together so well in order to achieve a common goal of reducing their impact, in a relatively cost-effective manner, and be distinguished for it by the Department of Conservation but UCR who has only a few puny miles (if even that) to maintain haven't quite figured out the nuances of watering to the extent as to not turn our grassland into marshes but hopefully that will change.

Global Climate Change sounds so much better than Global Warming

KimNguyen's picture

I keep encountering the term Global Warming and it just makes me cringe, as does Go Green. I know these are marketing tools used as a means to achieve the ends but I've been brainwashed to think that we should use the correct scientific name for the phenomenon but hey whatever works right... But jeez, I think from now on to protest in my own way I will always refer to it as Global Climate Change, I wonder if anyone will notice...

Many different groups, many different voices, one cause

Here at UCR, the people I have encountered are great and everyone seems to want things to change at UCR. It is so great to hear about it but some challenges I see from bottom up change at our campus is the lack to time, money, and resources. Yes we have funding through some student organizations but that only covers food and materials, it doesn't put college kids who are strapped for money on the payroll.
